Training (407)
The Training (407) visa allows people to temporary live/and work in Australia for up to two years in order to complete a workplace based training (to improve skills for current occupation, area of tertiary study or field of expertise) or a professional development training program.
General Requirements
Be nominated by an employer in one of the following:
- Training that is required to obtain a registration, membership of license (in Australia or home country);
- Training required to enhance skills;
- Training for capacity building overseas (professional development)
As the visa applicant, you must:
- be nominated/sponsored by an Australian business or organisation
- have functional English
- genuinely intend to stay temporarily in Australia for the intended purpose
- be able to support yourself financially during your stay in Australia
- have made adequate arrangements for health insurance during your stay in Australia
- meet the relevant health and character requirements
This visa is not designed to fill labour shortages, where the applicant’s sole intention is to undertake work.
